All the folders are tattered from use and school has lost the excitement of fall! Your child is dreaming of summer vacation! How do you keep your child motivated? It isn’t always easy, but here are some quick tips.
- Remember to involve your child in finding solutions
- Make your discussions collaborative, rather than confrontational
- Make sure that your teens are using their agenda properly
- Make sure that your teens have all the supplies they need to be successful
- Find out if your child needs extra help in any classes and arrange for that help
- Plan at least one thing for the summer that your child can look forward to
- Have your child speak with older teens or college students to find out how sustained effort can pay off
- Have your teens speak to someone who works in a field which interests them
Teens lose motivation for a variety of reasons. Academic coaching can help by providing them with the best tips for their personal learning style, which can help your teen save time and stress in their quest for academic success.
