Life is An Art! What Picture Are You Painting?

Life Is an Art! What Picture Are You Painting?
By Kathleen A. Matchunis, President of Connecting, Inc.

Your life starts out as a blank canvas. You have the brushes, which are your many talents and aptitudes. What picture are you painting with your brushes? Is it dark or light? Is it just nice to look at or is it meaningful?
It’s up to you! What? You think that other people received more brushes than you? No problem- it’s what you do with those brushes that counts! Yes, you are the creator of your life. Throughout your life, you will learn different techniques for using your brushes. How you use them is up to you. Your goal is to use all your brushes as creatively as possible.
You can get other ideas from looking at others’ paintings, but yours is an original because you cannot be anyone else but yourself. If you try to imitate others, your painting will never reflect the real you. Your painting includes your knowledge which is finite and your imagination which is infinite. Using both will enhance the beauty of your painting.
Thinking of your life like a painting gives you a new perspective on life. You realize that you can create a thing of beauty, which can inspire others. If you neglect your painting and rarely pick up your brushes, it will have the look of a neglected work.
If you think of your life as a work in progress, you will continue to embellish your painting, by adding strokes, which are your personal growth experiences. If you are fully engaged, your painting is never really finished, a work of art which is continually improving.
So, make sure that you are painting a picture that you enjoying looking at and find meaningful! Would you be proud to hang your painting in the museum of life?
